Landscape design and illustration: Le Bureau d'Études de Gally
Realization: Les Jardins de Gally - Plants: Les Pépinières Imbert
Every year, Les Jardins de Gally designs exceptional gardens as part of the Jardins, Jardin event. Thanks to the Bureau d'Études de Gally, Sapho plants are showcased in the “Cultures, culture” themed garden, a wonderful gift for our 50th anniversary.
“Cultures, culture” is a nod to the ‘Cultivated Natures’ theme chosen for the 20th edition of Jardins, Jardin, which took place in the grounds of Villa Windsor, in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, from May 30 to June 2, 2024.
This garden showcases the cultivation and culture of gardens. The art of French-style gardening is embodied by a labyrinth-like structure of hornbeams and yews cut into topiaries. At the same time, its circular shape allows it to blend into the English-style Parc de la Villa Windsor. Its many little nooks and crannies allow you to isolate yourself for a moment of calm or, on the contrary, to share a relaxing and convivial break with a small group.
Trees and shrubs grown at Pépinières Imbert, perennials from the horticultural farm and peonies, a crop traditionally associated with apple and pear orchards, represent the plant crops that make up Gally's history.
To highlight Sapho's 50 years of innovation, we were pleased to include Sapho varieties in the labyrinth, as a surprise for visitors. Small panels engraved in wood allow those who wish to learn the names of the plants to do so.
Cultures, culture is an extract from “natures cultivées” in more ways than one: a garden in the heart of the city.
Le Bureau d'Études de Gally grew out of a company of farmers and gardeners. This origin anchors our vision, like our work, in the operational world. What we design, we imagine both innovatively and practically, anticipating management, maintenance and appropriation by users.
These Sapho plants are combined with other plants in the project.
