An improvement on 'Leopoldii', 'Pastel' is more vigorous. The white pompoms, subtly mottled with pink, come out a little later, but are larger in size, offering a beautiful double effect. Magenta CHIFFON has all the characteristics of the celebrated range of Chiffon hibiscus: an abundant summer flowering of large double chiffon-centred flowers which open up completely. It adds a splash of violet-red magenta to the garden and continues flowering to the end of summer. A vigorous, well branched shrub, it requires spring pruning. Good results can equally be had whether grown in containers or in the ground.
